Ouranus had been a little bit mixed when he explained what Jenova was. On one hand it was one less culprit as to why this event had happened. But on the other hand, the fact that Jenova was a traveling being from beyond this planet to be a simple destroyer of worlds made her feel a little uneasy. Could something like Jenova actually be one of the Eidolons? In various hands, they ranged from being devastating to being able to defend a whole kingdom. However, the fact remained that all of them were incredibly powerful. And if Jenova could give Genesis and the others with its cells those wings, what else could it be able to have hidden inside? This was much more clear when he used the air quotations on the word dead. Did it actually feign death to keep hidden? She didn't press the matter any further because she still felt a chill go down her spine.
As Ouranus nodded her head, she had always wondered why as well. Why was she possibly the only one of her family left alive among the insanity? What made her unique compared to someone else? Could Abadon really be watching over her as well, guiding her by the act of an invisible influence to not only get stronger to fight for those who need help, but also find out what was going on? But it was clear as she also looked up at the sky as well with Genesis. She wanted to help out as much as possible. Turning her head, she smiled at Genesis as she spoke. "If you need help, I can offer you any assistance possible. Though my kingdom is in ruins, I am learning as much as possible about this world and help defend this kingdom as well. I know it will be difficult, many of the things I am learning now I am still trying to get a better grasp with. But I want to learn, and I want to make sure whatever insanity fell on my world never comes back again."

“if you need help, i can offer you any assistance possible. though my kingdom is in ruins, i am learning as much as possible about this world, and help defend this kingdom as well. i know it will be difficult, many of the things i am learning now i am still trying to get a better grasp with. but i want to learn, and i want to make sure whatever insanity fell on my world never comes back again.”
“your words are honourable. the words of a true hero, or heroine. embrace your dreams, all of them, and protect your honour,” he smiled a little, remembering his best friend’s rants about dreams, honour, and his buster sword. using it would only bring about wear, tear, and rust, and he believed that it was the physical representation of his family’s honour. he could see why now.
“angeal’s words. he believed strongly in honour and now i feel guilty for corrupting him too, but he regained his honour and pride,” genesis looked at the sky and bowed his head, placing a hand over his heart as a sign of respect towards his dead friend. who cares if it was a different sky to the one of his world? the skies were the same now. if worlds had been fused together, they shared one sky, an entwined destiny to fulfil later on in the life of the planets. as he bowed his head, the respect felt empty, as though cast into the void, and then he realised. the lifestream had disappeared, and it didn’t...
help me solve this, minerva! he cried out mentally, feeling a small drop of sweat run down the side of his face. he felt so... alone. friendless, but, as he looked towards ouranus again, a smile was on his pink red lips. he wasn’t friendless. he had a new friend, one who said that she would help him.
“if you need any help, advice, information, or just a shoulder to cry on, i’ll be there... well, contacting me will be hard, but i will return to this land every once in a while as i search for the answers i seek,” he said, bowing to the silver haired woman before turning around, a look of thought on his face. “tell me more about yourself, if you don’t mind.”

"Thank you Genesis."
She smiled when he had told her that. In a way, she always thought the words were always held by each of the Nova family. But as she listened to him, it made sense that in a way that this was a path of redemption. Though as he had said that he did corrupt his friend, he was able to find a way to seek a path of redemption. That is what Genesis was looking for as well: redemption. The one thing that her father had told her is that every one had their monsters. Even Ouranus when she grows older will eventually have a few monsters of her own. But it is the desire to evolve oneself to something better was a one of the many paths that her father had told her. Thankfully it was the best possible one that Genesis had chosen.
Turning her head to him, she smiled kindly when he offered the same help as well. "Thank you Genesis." She then closed her eyes as he asked more about herself. It seemed only fair, after he told her so much about himself. Holding her sword, she looked at it as she spoke. "My mother was a knight. She was skilled with a blade and in some ways almost like the general of Alexandria. She had hoped for me to learn under her. But before I can, I needed to learn many things. The main thing is how to use a sword. If I was going to be a knight, I needed to know how to use one. And never once did she ever hold back against me. She believed that the enemy will not give you an inch, so you have to be ready for anything." She then smiled again as she looked at the sky. "My father was different though, he believed that there is more to being a knight than fighting. Even though anyone can hold a weapon, it was the mind that was the greatest weapon. So he taught me using the city itself to use my mind and think my way out of situations. But then the mist came to our kingdom..."
She was silent as she shook her head. The last memory of her parents that she had was them vanishing into the mist to fend off the monsters. And what would have taken a couple days ended up being many months. All the while this happened people were getting more and more paranoid, turning against each other in almost a feral fashion. She knew that in some way her family had to be safe, but she also didn't have any delusions. The insanity that claimed many people was clear in Alexandria. Not to mention there were more monsters now than ever. This was all on the silver haired girl's mind as she then looked at him with a soft smile. "Like you I like to believe there is an invisible hand that is guiding me on the right path. Except for me he isn't a deity. He is known as Abadon, a former knight of Alexandria. His skill with a blade was without question. And there are times I like to believe he too is guiding me on the right path."

an enemy definitely would not give you an inch, that’s why you had to be ready for anything, with alert senses. genesis remembered his short spent time in the wutai war, how the SOLDIERs had to be alert and ready for anything, why they were forced to sleep in their clothes and had to sleep on the floor in tents, and not in sleeping bags because that would prevent you from getting out quickly. genesis could also remember having to order cadets to keep their weapons next to them, or their hand outstretched to grab it. it almost drove him mad. luckily genesis wasn’t a huge fan of sleep, why he often took on nightly watches... and then eventually he went rogue and took many SOLDIER second and third classes with him to turn into copies of himself.
there was more to a knight than war, he agreed with ouranus’s father. indeed, a night had to be brave and chivalrous, willing to help and able to discuss things, able to sacrifice themselves for the good of the people. they needed to speak the truth, have dreams, have a clear mind and good leadership qualities, and honour. genesis nodded a little in response to ouranus when she said that her father taught her how to use her mind and think her way out of situations. he was getting better at doing that, instead of drawing his weapon and getting out like that. shinra had trained SOLDIERs to be weapons of destruction, of protection, to be fighting machines. mindless monsters. that changed though with the younger generation, and genesis’s first instinct in a dangerous situation was to fight to defend himself.
“like you i like to believe there is an invisible hand that is guiding me on the right path. except for me he isn’t a deity. he is known as abadon, a former knight of alexandria. his skill with a blade was without question. and there are times i like to believe he too is guiding me on the right path.”
a smile on his face. “who said that this abadon isn’t guiding you? for all you know his spirit could be standing right next to you, proud of you and willing to continue guiding you along the right path. almost like a...” he pursed his lips a little in thought, “well, a guardian. a summon of sorts from the mist itself, a mystical creature connected to you.” genesis then thought, what creature would be connected to himself? though he had received the goddess’s blessing of sorts, he had no idea if she was his real guardian or not, and was just a mistress he served, to help protect the worlds, and his guardian was someone else... oh, it was confusing.

"A summon..."
When Genesis said this, she seemed to be deeper in thought when he talked about Abadon being a guardian. She wasn't too much of a stranger about when it came to the unseen forces of the world. Her mind went to the battle when Bahamut tore through Alexandria and in the people's time of need a being was summoned: the angelic monolith known as Alexander. A being both grand in size but also in sheer power. Could such beings be connected to a person? It didn't seem to be too much of a stretch from what she had been able to find out when her family was still intact in Alexandria. Eventually she snapped out of her trance, nodding her head as she smiled softly. "I think it could be possible for something like that to happen. But the question is, how would someone actually be able to summon such beings?" Naturally she had been thinking of herself mainly because of one fact: she was not much of a magic user. She had skills when it came to tending the wounds of others with white magic. But to use the destructive forces of black magic was unknown to her. However, she did possess the ability to channel the elements through her blade that allowed her to augment the attacks she had done. But now her mind was alive, curious about the unseen forces that Genesis had mentioned. Could the patriarch of the Nova bloodline really be summoned once again?

“a summon...”
it was obvious it was a tone of thought, or confirmation of sorts. genesis lowered his gaze, remembering the summons he had called forth from an unknown world. bahamut, in banora, before it was bombed by shinra to destroy evidence, or something along those lines; the golden bahamut to counter zack again in midgar and did he not summon ifrit? genesis wasn’t to keen on summon monsters, for he had a paranoia that they would end up attacking their summoner instead of the enemy, and he wouldn’t like that to happen.
“i think it could be possible for something like that to happen. but the question is, how would someone actually be able to summon such beings?”
“upon our planet, we had these stones called ‘materia’. it’s crystallised mako, and it holds the knowledge and wisdom of those known as ‘ancients’. anyone with this knowledge... they’re able to freely use the powers of the land the planet. it calls up magic, and is a variation of it is the summon materia. that branch allows you to summon monsters, but now the use of materia is dying out,” genesis let a smile grace his lips as he raised a glove hand to his hair to brush his fingers through it before taking his sword from his sheath. “embedded in the hilt. it’s a piece of materia, connected to banora’s ‘gift of the goddess’ – the red globe. it allows me to channel magic through the blade,” he took the sword by the blade, being careful as he held it to ouranus, offering it to her to hold and study up close. “there’s also special types of materia. the black materia, holding much knowledge of the ancients and able to call forth the ultimate destructive magic – meteor, and the white materia, same knowledge too, used to call holy, the ultimate protective magic. there’s also the huge materia... i’m not sure about them, to be honest, and then, the protomateria, which i heard only in passing from two ‘brothers’, who are really two men spliced with my cells,” he again wanted to know where weiss’s body disappeared off to.

"Hm...materia..."
Ouranus began to go back into a rather deep thought once again as she looked at her hand before looking at his. Though she was fairly sure now that Genesis could be able to use magic, but she thought it was a natural talent. However, as she learns about what Genesis used as an outlet for magic, perhaps in some worlds magic isn't as natural to some compared to others. It sounded like the materia was used as an outlet for someone to use to cast the spells. But still she had been curious about the materia in general. Her eyes fell on the hilt of his blade, studying the red materia that rested inside of his sword. Naturally she was no stranger about such things. She never told many people about it, but there was a special purpose behind the crest. As the story went, the blade was considered the body of Abadon and the crest was his soul. When combined together with the wielder, a greater power could be instilled into their body. For Ouranus, it was no different. She remembered the types of materia that he was talking about, still wondering about the materia in general. However, that was when she realized something about the eidolons: they can be channeled through gemstones. But she wasn't even sure if she could be able to even tap into such a power. "Perhaps you will be able to run into the materia you seek." She continued to smile as she still continued to think. So many new things that have yet to be discovered. If her father was here, he would have been easily a child again with so many things to explore.

“perhaps you will be able to run into the materia you seek.”
“to be honest... i think materia is dying, almost. rather, i don’t have to use it to be able to use magic anymore,” the red-head frowned a bit before turning and walking to his left for few steps, obviously in thought and using the newfound space to stretch his wing to its full length, which was surprisingly longer than his height. genesis stood at five foot eight without the help of his boots’ hells, which elevated him by about two or three inches. he didn’t know how long his wing was, fully stretched out, and really he didn’t have the urge to have it measured. first off, people would see his wing, second, it was too much hassle.
“are you able to use magic?” the one winged angel asked suddenly, turning around to ouranus with a questioning look on his face and one auburn brown eyebrow raised a little. it seemed that she was able to do so, she had the look of a mystic knight or a red mage. “do you know what your source of magic is? like how i’m able to, was able to use materia to cast magic upon others,” he added, so as to not get the other confused about what he was saying.
this day was just full of information for him!

Hm...now that is interesting...
With this knowledge in hand, Ouranus knew that this was going to be important to know. On one hand, the materia was dying. But on the other hand, the Mist still existed. Now there was something more to understand. Why would the materia die off and not the Mist? Could it mean that there was something that was selecting how the powers of this world would be determined? At the very least that was what she thought. As he explained to her how he was able to cast magic, Ouranus looked at her hand first. "Well...yes and no to that question. I do have knowledge when it comes to the healing arts. This is so I can be able to help people out in case of trouble. But in the ways of destructive magic.."
Ouranus' voice drifted off as she unsheathed her blade. She held it to the moon as she spoke. "The magic is held quite literally in my blade. I can focus my energy into the sword and use it to wield elemental strength. I have heard stories about a swordsman in the ranks of Alexandria who found out a way to mix magic with his blade. It took some time though, but I was able to learn some of the techniques needed to perform such attacks. For instance, I can be able to channel fire into my blade. I think I can be able to do other elements, but I think it is going to take a little bit of time to learn how the other elements factor in as well," she said while smiling sheeplishly.

materia felt wrong to use nowadays. no, it just felt odd. perhaps it was because he felt he had no need to it. he frowned lightly, looking at his rapier for a moment and studying the materia embedded in the pommel. it glowed with a dull shine. was he perhaps wrong? “ah, i’m wrong it seem... materia isn’t dying. i’m just not used to having it again,” he said quietly, focusing his blue gaze on ouranus again with his eyes slightly narrowed.
so this female knight was classed as a white mage, due to her knowledge of healing? but he considered her to be more of a red mage. a true white mage of sorts would go into battle with a staff, and plus red mages were able to use black magic... not the ultimate black magic, however, no way on gaia... the redhead wondered what had happen to the white and black materia. he knew for a fact that a man named vincent valentine still had possession of the protomateria, but what of the huge materia? would shinra perhaps have them, or were they disposed of?
“magic... channelled through the blade of your sword,” genesis frowned, and as if on cue a monster came up behind him, no doubt weak in comparison to genesis’s skills. a red-gloved hand grabbed his rapier-broadsword as he span around, the goddess’s materia lighting the sword up with ancient runes as fire rushed down his blade, connecting with the monster and quickly defeating it with the ability [flame strike]. a brief smile appeared on his lips as he placed the sword in its original position, turning back to ouranus.
“i’ve now figured out that i only need the materia in my sword to use magic, and other abilities. it seems the goddess has blessed the materia in the hero’s rapier,” a frown appeared on his face for a moment. he felt stronger, having recovered from the degradation process, having the jenova cells and mako inside his body, but his use of magic and all of his abilities. they felt... limited. as if something had taken knowledge of his skills away, leaving him with only a select few...

Is that it?
Ouranus leaned in a little bit closer as he looked at the hilt of his sword. Could this peculiar colored stone be the materia that he had been talking about? In a way, she kind of wanted to touch it due to her own curiousity. However, in this case, her curiousity got the best of her as a monster went out to attack the pair. As she moved back, she watched as he used the same tactics that she had wielded as well. Smiling happily, she then nodded her head. She then looked down at her own blade as she then began to think about her crest. As she took it off, she placed it into the hilt of the blade. Nodding, she knew that this was going to be important to know. Slipping the crest back on her person, she then smiled kindly as she then nodded her head. This was interesting to her in the ways of discovery. She had began to wonder about the mako, contemplating about different things. Eventually she had began to think about something that kind of unnerved her a little bit as she looked at the ground. "Genesis, I have a question. I am not sure if you can answer it but you have a better grasp at technology than I do. What if something like your mako would mix with something from my world?" She looked up into his eyes as she spoke again. "You see, in my world a mist was generated that can attract monsters at a greater rate."

mako... mixing with the mist from ouranus’s homeworld, which attracted monsters like a bee to honey and genesis to banora whites. it was an odd question to ask and an answer wouldn’t come to mind quickly, so he frowned in thought while lowering himself to the ground, crossing his leg. would anything actually happen? though not common with most SOLDIERs if someone infused with mako, such as the average SOLDIER, had too much alcohol, it would render them with odd results. and then while the jenova cells he had and the high quantity of mako in his body strengthened him, mixing it would alcohol would create disastrous results.
interesting.
“well, t’be honest i’m not sure,” the redhead said as he looked up at the woman, placing a hand behind his head and ruffling the back of his hair to gain the flicks that his layered hair had back. “the substance of mako itself may become contaminated and unfit to touch, perhaps causing something known as ‘geostigma’, while if it was in a person’s body it might give them to same effects as a high amount of alcohol would do to me – disastrous results. i admit i did become convinced there was a rabbit on the roof of the shinra building,” he said, grinning a little bit. you could tell the ex-SOLDIER was relaxed and happy to socialise.
“guess it’s something to experiment with or ask a highly intelligent person,” like professor hojo, but he was dead... wasn’t he?

"I see..."
It was clear on Ouranus' face that she seemed to be working something out in her head. Though she was a warrior by trade, give her enough information that makes her think about several things then her curiosity comes out and makes her think about a variety of things. It could be possible that those influences mixing together could cause a greater disaster to the people affected. In her case, it was the mist of different worlds that created something even more devastating Mist to deal with. But could this Geostigma be related to the Catastrophe? The curiosity had clearly outweighed the probability of being sick. Looking up at Genesis again, she then spoke once again. "I want to see the Geostigma." It was clear in her eyes that she wanted to see it for herself. If this was another clue to the worlds coming together, then it must not be ignored. The trick was that she knew that judging by Genesis' attire that where ever his world is from, it was going to be much more advanced than Alexandria. She was going to go in with an open mind. She knew that the chances were pretty high that she was going to learn more about the technology of his world, but she is more than happy to learn as much as possible.

every night, i stay awake, i find my reflection and every night, i rethink my past mistakes i dream of absolution- - - - - - - - - - “see it? are you mad? it’s disgusting and frightening!”
genesis suddenly let his stuck-up snob side get the best of him, allowing himself to go higher in pitch as he spoke. he quickly brushed down his clothes and looked down. “i mean... i would let you see for yourself its horrors, but the last cases of it is gone. it was wiped away by this healing rain from the lifestream,” he explained quietly, thinking back to when the immaculate of the tsviets explained to their ‘brother’ their plans on bringing omega weapon out. genesis remembered feeling disgusted at that, but he had ignored their plans and set about to a long rest under midgar in a cave, in a sphere of water for a good long while.
“i couldn’t show you,” he mumbled, feeling like he was letting the woman down. his eyes narrowed slightly. “the symptoms are feeling weak, and open sores on the victim’s body that secretes black ooze... some will have seizures and hallucinations,” genesis shivered a bit. he never wanted to see someone with geostigma.

Even though Ouranus didn't really say much, she still seemed to be thinking. There had to be something about the Geostigma that would have some connection to the Catastrophe. From what he had been able to tell her, it seemed that not only that it was a disturbing disease but also it had been taken care of for the most part. She would have been interested if she could be able to learn what was going on. However, her mind then went back to the lifestream. She was no fool though. She had the same level of concern of the lifestream as well as the Mist. Without respect for either, something bad would have easily happened. Nodding her head once more, she then spoke again. "Okay, if Geostigma is gone for the most part, perhaps we can still go to Midgar?" Even though there was a sense of concern in her eyes, she knew that going after the Geostigma seemed to be more serious than anything for his civilization.
