PERSONAL
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
This gifted young woman has long blond hair of which she wears tied up in the back, held with a silver comb accessory, and has two long fringes of hair framing either side of her face. She has blue eyes and fair skin. She is tall compared to her fellow female SeeDs, standing five feet and seven inches. She is about average weight; though her true weight is unknown. Woman don't usually tell others their weight.
There are two outfits that Quistis is most often times seen in; her SeeD uniform which consists of a long-sleeve jacket and a skirt. The majority of the jacket is black, though there are sections of blue on the shoulder area and a lining of red at the end of the sleeves; the collar, the end of the sleeves, and the lapels of the jacket are also edged in gold. A red tie is worn around the neck and is clipped by a silver clip, which features the Garden logo. A white shirt is worn under the jacket, and the skirt of the outfit is plain black that ends just above the knee. Footwear consists of black leather boots that reach mid-calf. She also wears silver-rimmed glasses.
Her other outfit is an orange/peach zippered vest that extends to just above her hips, which also features a low fold-over collar rimmed with gold. Over her arms she has dark brown arm warmers with brown gloves. Quistis also dons a long orange/peach skirt that has pockets with a silver waistband with black pants, a brown belt, and black shoes.
PERSONALITY
Quistis is in no way perfect. Due to the fact that she has had to force herself to mature more quickly than her peers and rise to the rank of an Instructor, Quistis has learned to mature more quickly. She is experiencing adulthood before understanding adolescence. She holds her professionalism and does not get too close with her students. Quistis can be considered intelligent, prodigal, and mature. She is of a friendly disposition and always tries to maintain her calm. Due to her quiet assertiveness, stoic nature and restraint, very few people take the trouble to view her as the young woman she still is and so, forced to mull over her thoughts and worries alone, and keeps at a distance from her pupils because of her rank. Quistis makes very calm, reserved, and rational choices. Quistis is the type of person who will think things through very thoroughly -- she will identify the problem, come up with several solutions, and pick the best one.
Since her loss at remaining a instructor, Quistis no longer has the need to be patient with everyone and everything, she no longer has the need to act in a professional manner, and she no longer has the need to restrict herself. It is as if she is growing up backwards. She sometimes lets her irrational feelings get ahold of her, causing her to hurt others' feelings. She is sort of experiencing a emotional tug-o-war game right now. Quistis suffers from the same dilemma most teenagers her age do: she is in constant doubt of herself, and often questions her motives. She seems to go back and forth between her polar personalities -- one minute she is giving commands to her peers, and the next she seems uncertain; one minute she's using her intelligence to get the group out of trouble, and the next she acts completely and utterly irrational. She seems to be constantly fighting herself inwardly and can be described as on the edge of some emotional see-saw. Thanks to losing her license and battling Sorceress Eda, Quistis has to hurriedly find her inner self and become strong for her comrades and team.

Triple Triad Cards; Quistis is the King of Balamb Garden's Card Club. The card game Triple Triad is all the rage in the Garden.
HISTORY
Quistis grew up in an orphan at the end of the Sorceress War, that was run by Edea Kramer and her husband Cid. (She was orphaned at an early age because of Sorceress Adel.) There were six other orphans there; Zell, Selphie, Irvine, Seifer, Squall, and Ellone, Quistis was one of the oldest there. She was nicknamed "Quisty" by her friends and was considered the "bossy" one of the bunch. After Ellone left she tried to take up the part of "big sister," mostly between Squall and Seifer of which always seemed to get into fights.
Eventually Quistis was adopted out but, due to unknown circumstances that resulted in her adoption "not working out", she was entered into Balamb Garden at the age of ten. Gardens trained the youth into becoming specialized military forces. The Gardens were made to train SeeD, an elite mercenary force who completed missions around the world. After feeling useless because she might've held the childish assumption that her original parents left her because they didn't want her and that she did not bode too well with her foster parents, Quistis decided to prove herself to the world. First she obtained the title of SeeD at the age of fifteen and went even further and at age seventeen she obtained her license as a Instructor at the Garden. She has been the youngest student at the Garden to become Instructor.
Even when she became an instructor she could not stop thinking about Squall, confusing her childhood feelings as a "big sister" for love. She hid her feelings though, even more so when she became his instructor. When the two injured each other in a training match Quistis was called to personally retrieve Squall, who had been admitted to the infirmary. Due to the mishap she was aware that Squall had become behind in his prerequisite tests for his field exam and went out of her way to assist him in passing. During the field exam Quistis went to her student's aid again, fending off Galbadia's mobile attack weapon with a machine gun that was mounted on their ship as her students board.
Afterwords during the inauguration ball, Quistis receives a letter of dismissal. The report said "lacking leadership qualities", i.e. not being able to contain her students. Thus her license was revoked and she attempted to confide her feelings to Squall but only received a cold demeanor in return. She took him to the training area inside of the Garden and attempts to express herself but fails; of which begins to struggle with herself and have insecurities.
Now acting as a SeeD, Quistis was called to track and contain Seifer when he broke out of the disciplinary room after he learned that a dangerous mission has been given to "rookie SeeDs" Squall, Zell, and Trabian transfer student Selphie Tilmitt. Following him to Timber, she called for assistance from Squall's team, as Seifer was holding the Galbadian President Vinzer Deling hostage in a TV Station in Timber. Seifer disappeared, presumably captured, Quistis and the others laid low for awhile and the headed to Galbadia Garden. Quistis offers her help in talking to Headmaster Martine. Later she, along with the rest of Squall's group (as well as a new member, Rinoa Heartilly) and a Galbadian student known as Irvine are selected to participate in a mission to assassinate the Galbadian Ambassador Sorceress Edea.
They meet up with General Caraway, who suggests that they break up into teams. She is opted as the leader of the gateway team by none other than Squall. When the briefing finishes Quistis is momentarily diverted by Rinoa, who has another plan to stop the sorceress, but Quistis berates her; thinking that Rinoa's plan were only contrived to oppose her father. Feeling guilty by what she said to Rinoa, she and her group head back to apologize but end up getting locked in the Caraway Mansion. By means of a secret passage way through the sewers they manage to make it back in time.
However, the assassination fails and both teams are imprisoned. (However, Squall was held separately and Irvine wasn't imprisoned.) With Zell's knowledge of prisons they manage to get out and meet up with Squall and Irvine. Whilst they are escaping, Galbadia, in retaliation for the attack on Sorceress Edea, targets Balamb and Trabia Garden's for missile attack. Splitting into two teams again they manage to save Balamb Garden but Trabia falls victim. Quistis oversees the care of the students with help from Dr. Kadowaki. They head to Trabia Gardens to offer their help and while waiting for Selphie to return the SeeDs remember their past together at the orphanage. During this time, Quistis realizes that her feelings for Squall were not that of love but of "sisterly caring" and voices her revelations out loud. Decisions are thus made and the Garden embarks to the old orphanage.
Along their journey they are intercepted by Galbadia Garden. Squall was deemed Commander and the so called 'Battle of the Gardens' began. It ended up with the Garden defeating Sorceress Edea and Rinoa going into comatose. They learn about the evil sorceress from the future called Ultimecia and her goal of Time Compression. With Squall as leader they continue on with their mission in search of Ellone, their long-lost "big sister" from the orphanage. Squall headed to Esthar on his own but Quistis and the others followed and enter Esthar together. They are faced with the problem of the Lunatic Pandora. Squall returns with Rinoa in a abandonded ship called the Ragnarok. Using Ellone's powers, they are able to start the Time Compression, and enter Ultimecia Castle in the future, where Ultimecia awaits. Upon Ultimecia's demise the group is momentarily trapped in a time warp, but due to their belief and reliance on each other, they manage to return to their time safely.
Back at Balamb Garden, Quistis celebrates with her friends their victory. She continues to hang out with her friends and goes on missions, she has opted out of returning as a instructor, having learned that she was not yet mentally stable for the position. That she was much too young, it is not known if she will ever return to that position. Perhaps, she enjoys being a SeeD and going on missions with her childhood-once-orphanage-friends.[/blockquote]
