What are L'cie you ask? Well heres the thread to get informed!
The beings known as fal'Cie possess the power to enthrall unwilling human instruments, compelling the victims to serve their will. These individuals, known as l'Cie, are marked with indelible brands. They gain the gift of magic, but also bear the burden of completing a task known as a Focus for their fal'Cie master.
The brands that mark a l'Cie as one of the fal'Cie's chosen change gradually, passing through several different stages. When the "eye" at the center opens -- the brand’s final stage -- the l'Cie becomes a Cie'th.
A brand's rate of progression depends partly on the difficulty of the l'Cie's Focus. It is also linked closely to the individual's mental state, with severe psychological trauma sometimes spurring rapid advancement. In the most extreme cases, severe fear and shock at being made a l'Cie has turned newly made l'Cie to Cie'th at the instant of their branding.
The Beginnings of the L'cie take root deep within the roots of Pulsian history, L'cie derived from an ancient Pulsian word meaning "Carriers of fate." This term described what the first l'cie had to do. It summed up the job of a l'cie. To carry out the fate of the fal'cie whom marked them. Fal'cie is another ancient Pulsian term for "Puppet god", which summed them up. On Pulse the Fal'cie were revered, and loved. However humans who were marked by them became their puppets for the rest of time. Referred as other names in various parts of this distorted world, the l'cie are a very magical set of people.
Either way, when the first human was marked, that began the eternity of human interactions with the Fal'cie, and it was also this first L'cie whom documented just what outcomes may happen to someone who gets marked like him. He described what he saw in his dreams of crystallization, and of becoming something he called a cie'th, which when translated from the Pulsian language meant "Fate's death". Through his logs, and his diary, the Pulsians came to revere and honor the L'cie, while other places called them curses, and planned to eradicate such people whom were marked. Such treatment now is Long forgotten, and yet more people are blaming the calamity on L'cie. After all, L'cie were the puppets of the Fal'cie. And They blamed an angry Fal'cie for the calamity that is happening now.
