brush it off again as trickery, slight of handIf You Must But For All Purposes And Intents - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - They were nice ladies for the most part, if not for the random loud squeals and odd obsession for this one person; a person she hadn’t figured out as to why he was so important. Rydia actually wasn’t too sure how she got involved in a group like this to begin with. They were all pretty upset when she first encountered them, though she firmly attested the fact it was her fault. The teenage looking girl seemed to attract danger, especially here in Luca. The first visit to the city with Mr. Stork was filled with danger, but none she acknowledged. In the world of Rydia, her magical powers were quickly used against monsters since she had been taught to use them against such fiends. Human lives were to be respected, and though nowadays she seemed more fascinated by people who could hurt others thanks to the distorted Asura’s views, Rydia, herself, was still restricted from killing others freely with her powers. The restriction was something imposed by things she learned years ago opposed to some restriction on her powers. [Thundaga] was highly effective as charring the flesh of fiend, but the spell could kill a person too.
Since Luca wasn’t booming with people thanks to the rather worrisome large ball of darkness in the middle of the city, monsters seemed to find their way about. And while Rydia was simply minding her own business by causing an earthquake to finish off the monsters that seemed to always be lurking in the mist, she also caused a big enough of a disturbance to interrupt some very spirited ladies. They had come for the city of Midgar, tracking some man they all seemed to be in love with. Apparently, they had caught a glimpse of him only for Rydia to thwart their chance to attack. It was hard to pouncing upon an idol of the ground caved in on them. And even though she helped them from the hole, they still weren’t too nice with their yelling and finger waving. Of course, when she accidentally used [Stop] against one, the momentum changed.
Rydia had expected to get mauled for attacking first. While freezing the very upset lady wasn’t physically damaging, it was a magic used against another human without previous aggressions since yelling wasn't really considered a hostile threat. It was just very mean and the green haired girl wasn’t fond of mean. But the other women seemed to rejoice in Rydia’s magical talents to her confusion. The leader figure amongst the women saw Rydia’s knowledge as something to their use, though they kept saying she had many materia. She still hadn’t figured what this material was even when people talked about it in Midgar. The people of Midgar was just generally confusing; it was a fact she accepted.
Through this whole situation was odd. Rydia stood out in the open field, awaiting whatever she was supposed to be waiting for. Her attention was slightly distracted by the urge floating black ball in the middle of the stadium. She still found herself fascinated with the random balls of corrupted magic within this city. It was similar to what was above Baron, and yet it wasn’t anything like it at all. “Hmm, hmm,” she moaned in awe. She wanted to touch it and see what happened. Such corrupted magic could hold extremely powerful dark arts within it. It could be a gateway back to the original world that Luca came from. It could even be a dark magical force that was sealing a grand monster that was corrupted thanks to the random mist that seemed to be lurking everywhere. A giant monster would be very bad but also rather interesting.
The out of place girl suddenly turned around as she heard something; one of the ladies that were hiding and whistled for her to pay attention. Rydia coughed then moaned. There seemed like there was something very odd about what they were asking to do, but this was supposed to be help for their very scared friend. The girl slowly walked towards the exit where she saw a man in red idling about. For girls that couldn’t get their friend to stop running, they really did keep good tabs on him. She and Cecil weren’t as observant when Rosa went missing and suddenly had some identity crisis as a girl named Celes. “Hello,” she said innocently, waving at the strange man. She hoped this help would go smoothly.

every night, i stay awake, i find my reflection and every night, i rethink my past mistakes i dream of absolution- - - - - - - - - - he knew they were there. he saw the faffing about of the leader who he most certainly knew form his past, he could scent their perfume, he could just about hear people talking. maybe they knew he was there – the famous red leather first class SOLDIER. genesis rhapsodos was not a big fan of the fanclub that obsessed over his clothes. he much preferred the study group, though now they had disbanded, having found a copy of the final act which in fact was written by genesis himself and placed in the leader’s apartment at midday when she was out with her other club-mates. the redhead had then left, leaving behind black fluffy feathers from his single black wing without realising it. they would wonder what the feathers were from. not a member of the fanclubs knew about his wing.
so now that genesis knew they were there – despite their attempts to stay hidden – he was debating whether to go around in order to get to his destination. he had heard of a small outbreak of geostigma and he wanted to visit the victims to see what it really was, if it was as it was described. he may feel disgusted and unwilling to do so – he was never one for illness and a fact that remained quiet between only his friends was that he was a bit of a ‘posh person’ when it came to disgusting things.
when he word of ‘hello’ was spoken, genesis turned his head from looking behind him to see a young girl standing in front of him with an innocent look to her face and waving at him. genesis blinked but decided to return the greeting. “good day to you, miss,” he was polite... not so much in the past of his criminal chapters but now that he was redeeming himself and trying to be a hero... “is there anything you want or need, miss...?” he trailed off and tipped his head to the side, asking her name in a rather odd way, but it was just natural for the ex-SOLDIER to do that. his startling blue eyes momentarily flickered to the corner, and he realised that he hadn’t noticed moving back a few steps. perhaps his fear of being chased by the red leather fanclub had caused him to actually step back a few steps from where he stood in order to run away before they saw him...

brush it off again as trickery, slight of handIf You Must But For All Purposes And Intents - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - They described him as wonder… Splendid. Magnificent. Dazzling.
And one even went so far as to say the man in front of him was ever-shining brilliance. Such descriptions were more often used to describe a pretty item than a friend since it said nothing about his personality. And though she had no clue if he had always been polite of this sickness he acquired made him indulge in such niceties, Rydia couldn’t be happier. His friends were scary enough at times; she really didn’t want to get yelled at again by another stranger. Her happy little smile stayed pleasantly painted on her face as thought deeply about his question. She wanted to find her way back to Baron. She wanted to find Cecil and keep better track of him this time around. She wanted to be able to return to Feymarch. And her friends! She wanted… no. She needed to find all her friends; she needed to prove that while their world had disappeared, all their companions from the past had survived the disaster Cecil described. But he probably didn’t want to know about her wants.
”Well,” she moaned shyly, looking at the ground as she twiddled her fingers, ”your friends are looking for you and they wanted me to help bring you to them.”
It wasn’t anything she wanted to do, but it was why she was approaching the man. It wasn’t that she was so young that she feared the ominous stranger danger but she still always felt a bit of shyness when first approaching someone she didn’t know. The situation was also made worse by what was being asked of her. Attacking the nice man for just forgetting he was supposed to be close to his friends was extreme. While Rosa seemed to suffer from a similar condition, Rydia and Cecil made sure not to suddenly try to beat sense into the woman. Trying to fight someone because they forgot who they were wasn’t the way to solve things. The man seemed rather nice and calm, making the tiny green haired summoner wonder if those women even tried to approach the situation with peaceful talks. ”So if you don’t mind, I would like you to come this way,” she said pointing towards the large ominous balls of floating blackness. She didn’t want to say things like they insisted on trying to freeze him and make sure he couldn’t run away. Someone also suggested making the ground underneath him cave in so he could be surrounded but that sounded rather harsh. He seemed like a nice person and Rydia didn’t want to hurt someone nice.

every night, i stay awake, i find my reflection and every night, i rethink my past mistakes i dream of absolution- - - - - - - - - - ...
his friends were looking for him?
he only deemed angeal and sephiroth his friends – and zack the puppy – so unless they were somehow waiting for him out there, he was pretty sure that the red leather fanclub was lying to this girl. he felt disgusted too at them forcing the girl to bring the redhead to them, and lying to her and saying that he was a close friend of theirs. hell no. they must have been smoking extreme amounts of various drugs to think that... no, they were just extreme fans of his.
he followed the girl’s hand to see ominous dark balls in the darkness. his SOLDIER senses told him not to walk there, no not at all, and it was also backed up by the little voice in his head that he trusted more than his heightened senses. genesis stood still and crossed his arms, resting weight on one leg but managing to keep it bent ever so slightly. “now it doesn’t look safe to go over there, miss, and plus i’ve already cracked that the red leather fanclub are waiting over there,” he tapped the side of his nose with a red glove, a mysterious explanation to say that he was able to smell them and their perfume, though the green haired girl probably didn’t understand the motion.
“really, i didn’t think they were this bad; dragging an innocent girl into capturing me,” he said calmly as he readied himself to run in the opposite direction, in case the girl directed the dark orbs towards him, but also ready to spread his single black wing and fly off into the sky in order to continue his search for those with geostigma, but really, part of the ex-SOLDIER didn’t want to do that. the poet also wanted to give the girls a piece of his mind though he knew that although he was stronger than all of them put together, he was flipping scared of them.

brush it off again as trickery, slight of handIf You Must But For All Purposes And Intents - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was safe going over there. She had been over there before with someone she trusted before following those weird ladies to that place. But that wasn’t really the issue. He refused to go and she was supposed forcible
insist on his cooperation. But just like when Rosa claimed she was Celes, this man was still pretty nice and well mannered. She didn’t want to act mean and attack him unprovoked. ”Red leather?” she repeated with her head tilted and her finger tapping her bottom lip. Was he talking about himself? And why was he tapping his nose? If he was mocking her, he was doing a very bad job; she totally wasn’t picking her nose so he didn’t need to feign mimicking that! ”Hey! I’m not innocent,” she protested with a pout and her arms folded. Innocent usually was used when they were talking about how she was child like. Even though she had only lived about eight years in the human world, Rydia insisted she was a full grown adult! She looked like an adult and was a powerful black mage like an adult. She should have been treated as one, not some child. She coughed as she tried to let go of her petty anger. If she was going to claim she was an adult, she had to act like one. Her head lifted as she looked at him with narrowed eyes. ”She said you would resist. And I did promise to return you to them regardless of your wishes…” she said in a serious tone. Her adult like behavior seemed to give way by the next sentence as her eyes shied away and her lips pouted. ”I don’t think it’s far to force people. I hate being forced. But you’re going to end up running away and they wouldn’t want that. I know I wouldn’t want Rosa running.” She ran over towards him and grabbed the ends of his leather jacket. Her big green eyes looked up at him pleadingly. ”Pleeease~?” she cried like a child. She was against using force on someone unprovoked since she had been taught that using her powers against innocent people was strictly forbidden. Her mother told hurting innocent people was something she shouldn’t ever do if she was going to become a responsible adult. Of course, using magic unproved against a human was forbidden, but killing monsters wasn’t something her mother restricted her from, thus she was usually able to protect herself while wandering alone. If he ran, she was going to have a minor issue but she was sure she could figure something out without hurting him. She was sure they didn’t want her to hurt him even though they were the ones who insisted on force. [/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

every night, i stay awake, i find my reflection and every night, i rethink my past mistakes i dream of absolution- - - - - - - - - - “hey! i’m not innocent.”
there was a pause, and then genesis realised how he had said it. though there was a child-like aura around the girl she looked exactly like an adult and held a power inside her that the red leather wearing man sensed. but, really, the ex-SOLDIER meant it as that she was innocent in their plans, not in personality at all... oh how it irritated him when someone forced someone else to participate in their plot, but it was something he too had done in his past. it was something he wanted to forget, though, and with reports of people losing their memory he had to wonder why his wasn’t gone too, but it may have been the goddess’s protection – a helping hand that would aid him in his quest to find out what this crisis was and prevent it from happening even further. even though he didn’t want to remember his past, genesis contradicted himself by thinking that he didn’t want to forget it. it was what made him who he was now.
“she said you would resist. and i did promise to return you to them regardless of your wishes...” she was trying her best to prove him wrong about her being ‘innocent’, but her act slipped as a pout appeared on her face. and her next big motion which consisted of her running towards him and grabbing the ends of his leather coat. genesis averted his mako gaze and didn’t look her directly in the eye. though he wasn’t one for kids he couldn’t resist puppy-eyes... and speaking of puppy-eyes, genesis wondered what happened to zack the puppy after they had fought in the banora underground.
“oh, you don’t know what they’ll do to me, miss...” genesis attempted to make her release his trench coat, feeling the extreme desire to run away, fly away, or flame her. “seven or so years ago i was a famous soldier but not as famous as the great sephiroth,” genesis could feel jealousy even now when he was working on being a hero again, “i still had a fanclub... two, actually. but these ones seem to be the only ‘survivor’ of the two... the red leather fanclub,” genesis bent over a bit to rydia’s height. “they love my clothes, they love my looks. they’re obsessed and i would rather not go near them. i think i still have mental and physical scars from when they last captured me,” mental was definite. it was what made him scared of the group. physical... well he wasn’t exactly going to take off his trench coat and turtleneck to see if he still had scratches on his shoulder, was he?
“please don’t force me to them,” he said, looking into the girl’s eyes with his sky-like ones, “as well as unwilling to go to them, i’m also busy and needing to go investigate a small outbreak of geostigma...”
why did he have the feeling this wasn’t going to work? ah well, you had to give him points for trying.

brush it off again as trickery, slight of handIf You Must But For All Purposes And Intents - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ”Sephiroth?”
Those women had come from the city of Midgar, so it was only natural to assume that their red haired friend also lived there before the memory loss. And since Sephiroth seemed like an unusual name, maybe there was only one in all of Midgar. ”You mean the flower girl?” she chirped happily before wincing. She kept forgetting Sephiroth wasn’t a pretty flower girl. He really looked similar to a girl. And he had long girly hair… Now she thought about it, Genesis looked mildly like a female as well. Back in Baron, soldiers were referring to strong men who protected the town. Midgar definitely had a different definition. Sephiroth was tall and carried an extremely long weapon, but maybe that was all for show so no one would steal his flowers. After all, he just said he wasn’t the flower girl. He never claimed not to be the flower boy. ”I meant boy… Because you both are boys…” she said in a less than convincing tone.
He started explaining things she didn’t understand, leaving an obvious confused look on her face. What exactly was a fan club? Midgar was so odd with these odd terms. She felt fortunate that it wasn’t a place on her home world since she was sure a place like that wasn’t suitable for children. Cecil would have been shielding her from everything in that place. They had crossdressing fighting flower sellers that girls could obsess over their clothing and similar feminine looks. And those girl-guys ended up getting hurt since they weren’t very strong. The girl frowned as she looked away. It was sad that in Midgar SOLDIER meant someone weak. Most average girls in Baron couldn’t go beating up real soldiers. The ladies lying in wait didn’t seem all that strong either.
”Geostigma?” she questioned before shaking her head. She was being distracted by all these odd terms and couldn’t let herself get caught up any longer. ”No, no. You will come with me!” She had such a serious look on her face that it was almost funny. Someone as childish as Rydia never did pull off serious well. There her looks quickly changed back to their normal happier once as she smiled softly at the tall looming figure. ”And don’t worry. I’m really strong so I’ll protect you if they try to hurt you again. But they’re your friends and you shouldn’t ignore your friends. Besides saying hello only takes a few seconds…” She grabbed him by his arm and started to drag the unwilling male towards the dangerous ambush of rabid fangirls. She could see them as abusive from time to time, but those girls weren’t bad people; they were just a bit on the odd side. Rydia couldn’t go about and cast something devastating like [Thundaga] on the group. Though, she did have magicks to use on Genesis if he ran or the group if they tried to hurt him. In her innocent of innocent minds, she believed everything would work out.

every night, i stay awake, i find my reflection and every night, i rethink my past mistakes i dream of absolution- - - - - - - - - - ... flower girl?
what was she going on about? then genesis realised that because of his long hair and feminine face, sephiroth did look a bit womanly, but how did she mistake him for being a flower girl? he wasn’t that girlish in looks. one of the things genesis was teased about was he acting more like a posh lady and obsessing over his looks occasionally than sephiroth himself. he frowned a little in thought. did he and sephiroth look that like girls?
“no, no. you will come with me!”
the serious look on her face would’ve been funny if it weren’t for the impending doom about to come upon genesis. she grabbed him by the arm, and though genesis would have easily been able to flick her away from him, he felt no desire to. besides, she would have to believe that he was telling the truth when she saw how rabid the fanclub was... and then genesis would be able to cast apocalypse on them before legging it... or winging it, if he decided that flying away using his single black wing was easier. the redhead let out a quiet groan when the green haired girl started dragging him in sight of the fangirls and resisted putting his hands over his ears at their sudden loud screams of joy and victory. it very much hurt his ears because, as a SOLDIER, he had enhanced senses and such frequency and volume really gave him a headache...
sure enough genesis started stepping back, forcing rydia to release his arm in the process, and forcing himself to hold back using magic to stop them, but before he could start running he was tackled by the head fangirl. however, the lightning reflexes of a SOLDIER brought him to quickly jump to the side when he was near to the floor and then do a fast cartwheel backwards to get further away from them. he could already feel his anger rising and genesis shot a dark glare to rydia before he found himself distracted by that little movement and being surrounded by girls screaming his name and trying to push him down to the floor or tie him up. one of them already had rope out and due to the tight space he was suddenly in, genesis was unable to flee. the only way he could do escape now was to unleash fira or whip out his sword, or even spread his wing... the latter he would try to do, but using his wing required him to have at least two metres in space, and right now... he had literally only fifteen centimetres.
“GET. THE HELL OFF ME!” he suddenly shouted loudly, anger and panic risen to the point where he started thrashing and flailing in an attempt to get away, but the rope was restricting his arms’ movements.

brush it off again as trickery, slight of handIf You Must But For All Purposes And Intents - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Wow! It was like watching a very well orchestrated act through Rydia would have appreciated less screaming. But the way Genesis and that other girl moved was fairly amazing. She wasn’t good at dodging attacks that came that fast. The tiny girl clapped happily as if she were cheering on some circus act that got her a very sinister glare from Genesis. Her clapping slowed down to a completely stop as she smiled uneasily. She was supposed to be protected him from getting hurt, but in truth, tackling hugs were things she did to Cecil. And his Stork didn’t seem to mind her friendly bombardment. Genesis didn’t enjoy it at all considering how there was more than one girl tackling him. When rope came, her uneasy smile turned completely to confusion and shock. Just what the heck was going on?
”I call his shirt!”
Her emerald eyes looked at one of the screaming girl who was jumping into the fray. Maybe…maybe Genesis was right about these ladies not being his friends. The girl stood there completely separated from the while action. Genesis was screaming by the time they were trying to peel off clothes. Her confusion grew even deeper. He said they liked his clothes, but if they took off all his clothes, what exactly was he going to wear? And even if he found new clothes wouldn’t they just take that? She shook her head. These questions could probably be answered at another time she needed to stop all this. Of course, stopping wasn’t going to be easy, per say. Poor Genesis would still be surrounded and trampled if she casted [Stop] on everyone. He definitely was going to hell if she cast [Stop] and he was still half clothed with a crazy lady frozen to his chest. It was a good thing she had a nice safety plan just in case something like this happened…not that she expected this to happen.
”[Undo],” she commanded as she held her right hand in the air.
Time seemed to slow down until it completely stopped. Suddenly, they all seemed to be forced to replay their actions backwards. The mauling and trampling in reverse was odd to witness, and she never liked how [Undo] caused her to walk backwards. Even though time was reserving itself, she always felt she was going to trip. Soon enough, she was once again standing in front of Genesis, gripping his leather jacket. It took her a second to realize the spell was finally over. She looked back and forth, as if she were looking for something. Even if time was reserved, memories weren’t. There was yelling from the distance and Rydia jumped. ”[Areroa],” she shouted in fear. She didn’t want to hurt the crazy women, but strong wind gusts should have kept them from being able to enter the narrow tunnel so easily.
She turned to Genesis with the look of confusion and worry all over her face. ”That was…it was bad,” she obviously stated. The girl shook her head. She didn’t want to them to suddenly attack her now that she had reversed time and Genesis was probably going to run away. She needed to run away too. Baron was close to here so all she had to do was find it and then she could hide in her room in the castle. ”I…I’m going to run away now,” she announced before running past him. When the screaming happened again, it was booming thanks to all the echoes created in the tunnel. The tiny girl ran for her dear life. Even if they weren’t after her, it seemed like a bad idea to get caught up in that.
