PERSONAL
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
Sephiroth has many features that make him instantly recognisable to anyone who sees him, even from a distance. He has very long, silver hair; the colour of which is not a product of age as Sephiroth is still relatively in his youth, with his bangs parted to either side of his face. He has cyan eyes, though his pupils are cat-like slits. His facial features are beautiful to the point of almost being femininely pretty. His nose and lips are thin, with his eyebrows also being perfectly shaped. He maintains a calm look on his face to go with his normal attitude.
He wears a long, black leather coat, which features several buckles in its length, but only one of which is ever fastened. The top of his uniform is open to reveal his chest, which is covered somewhat by leather straps criss-crossing his chest. He wears black boots, and black trousers to go along with his jacket. His outfit also has a pair of silver pauldrons. Strangely, he sometimes seems to have a black cloak over his right shoulder, but in battle he reveals this to be a single black wing. He sometimes reveals this fact outside of battle as he can make use of that one wing in order to fly. He wields his weapon with two hands most of the time, though this is to put more power behind his swings, as he can easily use the weapon with one hand, which he sometimes does.
PERSONALITY
Sephiroth’s personality has always been one of cold ruthlessness. He isn’t exactly anti-social, but his coldness and professionalism puts people off him. This does make him perfect material for a soldier, however. He does not think highly of his allies, and he prefers to go out on missions alone, or even in groups made up from the best of the best. He is highly intelligent, an aspect of his mind that was only enhanced following his fall into madness and his time in the lifestream. He is also very respectful to those he deems as deserving of his respect.
Sephiroth is confident to the point of arrogance, but as the strongest soldier in existence he has good reason to be. After becoming insane, his mind changed very little, apart from becoming more vengeful and murderous. He never goes all out in battle, though. He also developed a messiah complex, as well as a god complex. On top of that, he became crueller, and his intelligence heightened. Even for all this, he can still make friends when he so pleases.
ITEMS
JENOVA’s head
- Sephiroth always has what one would call Jenova’s head on his person at all times, though strictly speaking, it is not a head at all. Sephiroth absorbed the head, as well as the remainder of Jenova’s body a long time ago, and now he is able to manipulate Jenova’s DNA as he sees fit. This can potentially heal him, as well as damaging enemies, and even creating Sephiroth Clones to take blows for him.
- Rebirth Energy – Through the power of Jenova, as well as the Mako in his blood, Sephiroth has the ability to drain the power from his opponents and subsequently heal himself using that same energy. This deals heavy damage to one opponent, however due to the energy required to perform the move, half of the energy absorbed from the opponent goes into recovering straight away from the use of the move, and half goes to healing Sephiroth himself. HISTORY
Shortly before Sephiroth’s birth, scientists from Shinra uncovered the body of a creature unlike anything they had ever seen. Although it was human in appearance, they could tell instantly that it was definitely not human. They identified the creature as one of the Cetra – the ancients – and thus began the Jenova project; an effort by the scientists, led by Professor Gast Faremis, with the aim to take Jenova's cells and create a human hybrid with her to produce super-soldiers with Jenova's powers. Lucrecia Crescent and Professor Hojo entered a relationship, and offered their unborn child as the test subject for the experiment. At around the same time, Gast left Shinra, leaving Hojo in charge of the Jenova Project.
Lucrecia agreed to the experiment, and thus she and her unborn child were injected with the serum of Jenova’s blood, and proceeded to bring Sephiroth to term, his unborn foetus merging with the Jenova cells. However, the cells had an unexpected side effect: Lucrecia would have visions of her son, Sephiroth, and of the future atrocities he would commit. The visions were extremely painful and Lucrecia often collapsed in pain.
As soon as Sephiroth was born, Lucrecia felt extreme guilt, however Hojo was the opposite. He took the child from her to experiment on him, without her even having the chance to hold the child. Lucrecia disappeared thereafter, eventually wanting to die; however, due to the Jenova cells in her blood, she could never truly die. Hojo raised Sephiroth as his own child, but he was raised to be the ultimate SOLDIER. He was told nothing of his mother, apart from the ‘fact’ that her name was Jenova. He was also unaware that Hojo was his biological father, referring to him as a ‘walking mass of complexes’. Many years later when he was around twenty five years old, in what would be his final mission he went to Nibelheim with Zack Fair and Cloud Strife.
While there, they went to the nearby Mako Reactor for their mission. At the reactor, Sephiroth found several pod-like chambers containing monstrous creatures, apparently former humans, possibly mutated by injection with Jenova cells and exposure to Mako. Deeper inside, he found a larger chamber labelled "JENOVA" containing a strange feminine-looking creature. Upon discovering this being, he felt confused, disturbed and intrigued, and returned to the Shinra mansion back in Nibelheim. He made his way to the basement, where he spent a considerable amount of time reading every book in there to find out more about the creature known as Jenova. He discovered that the creature was in fact his mother, and this led to him believing that he was the last surviving Cetra, as he was the son of Jenova. He resolved to take vengeance on the human race, as they abandoned the Cetra two thousand years previously to defend the earth from a Calamity that stuck the earth. Unbeknownst to him, that calamity was Jenova.
Subsequently, he proceeded to burn down Nibelheim, and returned to the reactor to claim Jenova’s remains. He is pursued by, Zack, Cloud, Tifa, and her father. Shortly after reaching the reactor, Zack arrived and attacked him. Nevertheless, Sephiroth defeated him, and threw him out of the chamber. Cloud entered the reactor and picked up Zack's Buster Sword, rushing after Sephiroth. Caught off-guard, Sephiroth was impaled through the abdomen.
Due to Sephiroth's enhanced anatomy, however, he survived Cloud's assault, though wounded greatly. As Cloud left him to tend to Tifa, Sephiroth sliced off Jenova's head and stumbled from the room. Cloud attacks him again, but Sephiroth stabs him with the Masamune. Cloud then summoned unknown strength and used the sword as a lever, hurling Sephiroth into a wall; at which point Sephiroth jumped into a pool of Mako as a means of escape, stunned at Cloud’s strength.
Sephiroth survived the plunge, and spent the next few years traveling the Lifestream, learning the secrets of the Ancients. In particular, Sephiroth learned of the Black Materia, which could call the ultimate black magic, Meteor. Sephiroth eventually came to rest in the Northern Crater, the site of Jenova's landing 2,000 years previously. Crystallized in Mako to increase his powers, Sephiroth would remain in hibernation for some time, using his new-found influence over Jenova to act through her.
Over the course of the next few months, he successfully manipulated Jenova in his image, as well as his control over the Jenova cells in Clouds blood, in order to acquire the Black Materia. Using his willpower to hold back the power of Holy, which was the only thing capable of stopping Meteor’s power, he summoned Meteor. At this point, his body began to twist and warp into a form more befitting of a God.
Soon, Cloud and his allies, along with Shinra, managed to open a hole in the barrier Sephiroth had created to prevent the Weapons from knowing that he was there and trying to destroy him. He was forced to battle them in his larvae form, but upon his defeat in that form, he transformed into his penultimate form – an angelic form with seven wings. Somehow, even in this form, Sephiroth was destroyed, but he pulled Cloud into the Lifestream for what would be the seemingly final showdown – a battle of willpower. Clouds willpower had grown considerably though, and he ‘defeated’ Sephiroth. However, he was anything but completely gone.
He spent the next year in the Lifestream, binding his time and regaining his strength, as he could never truly die. It was at the end of the year following his ‘destruction’ that the Calamity hit. This was not Jenova, or even another of her kind, but something completely different. This event, in ripping apart all of the worlds, and severely affected the Lifestream. Sephiroth’s willpower, extreme determination to not be left as a memory, and inability to die meant that Mako in the lifestream solidified, not into Materia but instead forming Sephiroth as he was remembered by others. Yet he was much more than a memory projected into the world or just crystallised Mako; he was reborn with a new human body, with memories and strengths from his Rebirth and Seraph forms in the previous world. Be it coincidence of if the Calamity meant for him to reborn, only time could tell. Stuck in a world he was completely new to, Sephiroth would be forced to become a wandering swordsman, using his Masamune to fell anything he needed to kill, just as he would have done before. Although he was now in a land he knew nothing about, he still remained calm. He had retained most of his memories, too, but was unaware that Cloud had been the one that had destroyed him, and that he had tried to destroy the world.[/blockquote]

BATTLE
WEAPONRY
Sephiroth’s weapon of choice is the Masamune. The Masamune is a weapon that is at least seven feet long, extremely thin, and resembles a Nödachi. Even for its thinness, size and weight, it is incredibly powerful, and difficult to wield. It is said that Sephiroth is the only person with the ability to use this weapon at all, never mind in battle. In battle, his skill with the blade is rivalled by none. The power and unique structure of the weapon, accompanied by Sephiroth’s skill with a weapon, has meant he had been able to develop several techniques with the weapon to further enhance his fighting style.
