PERSONAL APPEARANCE
Rydia is a lovely woman. She has long flowing green hair like long blades of grass that sway in the wind. It is never combed or styled, but the messy locks always look perfect. They have wild but tamed look to them as they lay all around her body. Her eyes are a lovely shade of green that twinkle like emeralds when she’s happy or excited or as deadly as poisonous swamps when enraged. They never hid her true emotions, thus have found themselves always to be looking lost or lonely. Her face is almost angelic. There has and always will be something fragile to her looks. Though she used to be someone who was always smiling, the brightness has faded thanks to the mist. If anything her smiles are somber and her lips usually fixed in a frown.
Her skin isn’t fair since she’s traveling about usually and her clothing might be considered eccentric by some. They’re typical sorceress garb in her world, but now it’s almost fitting. The missing clothing could almost be seen as something the mist took away as most seem to look like they’ve been through disaster. They’re light weight and perfect for moving about quickly. It’s easy for her to run deeper into the danger of the abyss though when she realizes she’s running to nothing they provide no coverage for the harsh elements. If anything, they help with her fragile look. The green thin cloths clinging to her small body as it shivers from the cold. The weak and frailness is just a facade, but everything about her seems to be deceiving.
PERSONALITY
Rydia has always been different; being the last of a race has that effect on a person. She was only seven when she was forced to grow up and become a strong woman and took such a thing in stride. She saw the evils in men but also the good and chose to believe in the good. Because of that typically Rydia has a smile that’s brighter than the sun with a heart that’s just as big. She has the ability to put the wellbeing of others before herself. More importantly, she always strives to help those closest to her. Darkness can only hold a person down for so long before light shines through, and she wants to be the light badly. She wants to make the world a place where the darkness of men’s hearts fades away so they can know the wonders of joy.
The most important thing to the green haired maiden is family. Growing up, family was her world since her village was so close. And even when she gained a new family, Leviathan and Asura were her world. Her friends in the Overworld are also close family too and she wants nothing more than to be around them and help them no matter what. Such helpfulness is almost a fault since she could be easily manipulated by those close to her. A few suggestions could easily turn her against another person because it was the will of her friends’. Luckily, she’s man fairly honest friends so their judgment has never been used in ways to make others look down upon the young summoner.
Because she so wants to be around the people she loves and cares about, Calamity has corrupted such an urge. With the distortion of Feymarch, the Land of the Espers, Rydia, too, suffered the twisting of her conscious. The demented state the Eidolon warped to didn’t change who they were in Rydia’s mind. If anything changed, it was her perception. Their new twisted versions were something she fell in love with since she loved their original selves. Their willingness to serve Calamity was engrained within her since she wanted nothing more than to be like the Eidolons. And even through Leviathan and Asura ushered her away to what they thought was safety, such distortions of her mind didn’t go away. If anything, they grew. When fiends came within the mist, she embraced them since they were now like her demented family. Their urge to hurt others was no longer a threat but something she felt she had to help since they needed to hurt humans to live and she wanted all those in her family to grow strong.
ITEMS
Insignia of Summoner – A jeweled hairpin. The hairpin Rydia typical spots isn’t truly a fashion statement but a family heirloon handed down for generations. Through she sometimes changes the decoration around it, the pin is a sign of a summoner and supposed to give the power to hear the voice of the Eidolons clearly to a summoner.
HISTORY
Rydia was born in the village of Mist. By the age of seven, she was the village's most powerful summoner but only because Eidolons trusted children more than adults. The village was hidden away from the majority of the world with her mother's Eidolons protecting the village from intruders. While not all the family within Mist were capable of summoning, the village lived like a happy family. Rydia was the youngest summoner within town, but there were still other children around her age to play with. Even during those time the green haired girl was known for having a big heart and smile, trying to help everyone she could. The town was isolated but never once did anyone feel alone because of the togetherness Mist shared. Sadly, it all ended on the tragic day her mother's died before her eyes.
Summoner share special links with the Eidolons summoned. The supernatural creatures don’t live in their world, and so in order to be manifested into their world they are linked to the lives of the summoner. When an Eidolons link is cut from this world by dying, its summoner dies as well. However, the Eidolon never truly dies since its true self is safe within another realm of existence.
Rydia’s mother controlled the most powerful summon in the village, thus she became its protector. Her Eidolon, the Mist Dragon, was summoned and stayed outside of town to protect the village. While usually Mist Dragon just dealt with roaming monsters, on that fateful day it was two humans that came to slay it. The invaders had managed to kill the dragon thus killing her mother. Rydia was near her mother when she collapsed. She had told the girl to run and warn the villagers when she felt her life slipping away, but the young girl couldn’t leave. She begged and pleaded for her mother to wake up; she didn’t have to die because her Eidolon died! The Eidolon wasn’t really dead so her mother shouldn’t have to really die! Soon the men that killed her mother appeared in the village, causing a large fire. Even in the chaos Rydia refused to leave her mother’s side. She couldn’t accept her death. All the villagers seemed to be frantic, but the two foreigners seemed to be calm regardless of the blazing flames; the two strange men started talking about how they killed the dragon and how the stories of summoners must be true. They were gloating over her mother’s death! When the two men approached her, the young girl felt all her anger and fury swelling in her heart. Not once in her life had she experienced such detestable feelings until they came into her life. One offered to help her, but she quickly refused their help and summoned an Eidolons to protect her from their advances. The men who killed her mother couldn't be trusted! Titan appeared, causing an earthquake and sending them far away. Unfortunately, she, too, was caught in the earthquake.
By the time Rydia awoke, the man had taken her to a place she thought was safe. It was far away from her village since even indoors it felt warm. And nothing was familiar. Her mother was gone and so was her village. Now she was far away in some unfamiliar place with a man who killed them all. Even when he tried to talk to her, she couldn’t speak back even to yell at him. Her anger made her mute and for that, she sat there with her bottle emotions until she fell back to sleep. That night, soldiers marched in demanding her life. Oddly enough, the same man that destroyed her previous life seemed bent on keeping her safe now as he slew his former allies. She hated him for killing her mother, but when he fought to defend her Rydia's perspective changed. The man's name was Cecil and he soon became Rydia's friend. She apologized for her harsh treatment of him earlier, seeing now he had a kind heart. With his urge to protect her, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. People from his country wanted her dead because she was friends with the Eidolons. And while she could summon them, she wasn’t too strong; she definitely wasn’t strong enough to defeat an army. And yet Cecil still was willing to keep her near to ensure her safety. While gaining such a great friend didn’t make up for losing her happy family, she was happy to have Cecil.
When he learned another friend of his was sick in the village then he set off to find a cure with Rydia accompanying him. The road ahead was rather harsh, but the two were rather lucky to find a very powerful sage in need of help. The walk was quite a far distance and by the time they reached the city that could cure Rosa, the Red Wing had attacked the city to steal their Crystal. There the group met Edward, the prince of Damcyan. His parents were slain and the person he loved the most died to protect him and all he could do was cry. The young girl looked at him with disgust. He was supposed to be strong as an adult but all he did was cry. If she could act like an adult and continue on then so could he. Her words were harsh, but she had met them to encourage him. She knew it was hard to watch loved ones die, but he needed to continue on. If there was hatred in his heart, then he should have had determination like Tellah and gone off to avenge he loved ones. Cecil did the same and eventually the prince came around. The group headed off to find the pearl that was the cure to Cecil’s friend disease. Once they slain the monster, the group rushed back to save Rosa, Cecil’s childhood friend.
Rosa was a very pretty and nice woman, being around her instantly brightened Cecil’s feelings. Rydia liked her almost instantly since she was such a kind woman. She cared for the wellbeing of others before herself, wanting t immediate head to Fabul after being given the medicine. But there was more to Rosa than just being nice. She was forgiving and encouraging. The blonde woman’s determination made Rydia see past her fear of fire to the people that needed the group’s help. The next place Baron would strike was Fabul but the roads were covered in ice. Rosa knew magic but only white magic meaning Rydia would need to melt the ice with fire. And even though she hated fire with such passions for taking away the village she loved and people who treated her like family, her new friends needed her to be strong so they could be strong. And if they were going to stop Baron from making people sad like she once was, she had to melt the ice. And so, for the first time the young Rydia casted fire and they headed off to island of Fabul to warn them about the threat to their crystal. On their way to Fabul they met a monk who joined up with them in order to keep Fabul safe, unfortunately, when they made it to the city-state, the events in Damcyan seemed to continuous replay themselves.
In Fabul, they were able to keep the city from being completely destroyed but Rosa was kidnapped. She was taken by the same man who helped Cecil destroy her town. Rosa was a friend, so they had to save her! Soon the party was off to Baron to save her and stop this Golbez from his plot. Baron was the country of the Eight Corps, but their navy corps was their weakest. Going by ship seemed best, or so said the Dark Knight. But during the trip, Leviathan, the Lord of All Waters attacked the vessel! Such a thing spelt doom, sending all the sailors into a frenzy. Rydia was thrown overboard almost instantly as the great sea serpent tried to destroy the ship. Even though the brave Yang tried to save her, the moment she hit the water she sank faster than her could swim. When all she could see was blue, she felt a great rush pulling her away from the ship and Yang. The young summoner swallowed by the Lord of All Waters.
While Leviathan might have swallowed the girl, he didn't ingest her. Instead, the King of Eidolons took her to the lands of Feymarch. For what seemed like years, the girl stayed with the Eidolons and they became her second family. Lord Leviathan and his wife, Asura cared for Rydia like a daughter. As time passed, Rydia wondered about her old friends. Did Cecil save Rosa? Where they able to stop Baron? Because time passes differently in the land of Eidolons, Rydia grew older as what was years in those lands. She assumed the same had happened to the outside world and the problems with Baron resolved themselves. As Rydia grew stronger, Asura finally told the green haired girl what was happening in the Overworld. Worried about the others, Rydia took off to try to help her friends. When she arrived to the Dwarven Castle, she made it just in time to save Cecil and defeat Golbez with her Mist Dragon. Sadly, she wasn't able to stop him from stealing the Dark Crystal. More tragedies seemed to follow all their attempts to retrieve the Crystals failed as well as what was thought to be the deaths of Yang and Cid.
Soon fate leads the group the moon. Eventually they learn the disasters and tragedies that Rydia's witness was all a plot of a man named Zemus. When the time arose for the final fight, Cecil asked her and Rosa to stay on Blue Planet since their was no guarantee of coming back. Even Edge chimmed in saying 'it was for grownups,' trying to mock her. While Rydia left in a rage, she had no real intentions of missing such a battle. So many people had died because of Zemus including her mother. Cecil was forced to fight his brother and the Giant of Babil had caused such destruction! She couldn't just sit back. The two stoleaway on the ship and eventually convinced Cecil to rejoin the party. While Golbez and Fusoya were able to defeat Zemus, his hatred turned into a monster called Zeromus. They were all able to destroy Zeromus and the world was safe once again.
When Rydia returned to Blue Planet, she wished to return to Feymarch since the Eidolons were her only family. And for a time, she lived with her adoptive father and mother. But those few blissful months came to an end as Asura seemed to notice how Rydia seemed to act more like a Eidolon rather than a human. While she was loved by all the Eidolons, especially her parents, Asura knew her world would need her more. And the longer she stayed within Feymarch, the shorter she could be with her own kind. But before Asura could get her husband to agree to exile their adopted daughter, the world they knew seemed to collapse and crumble. Within its place appeared a dark and twisted version of their world. The once loving and friendly Eidolons seemed to give into more primal desires, becoming slightly maddened. A few of their forms seemed to twist and distort to something more aggressive and hostile. And before madness completely overtook the king and queen, they casted out Rydia back to the Overworld, to the lands of Baron.
While Rydia was safe from being becoming completely corrupted from the influence of Calamity, she didn’t leave unaffected. She had seen the new forms of those she once considered family and instantly accepted it. Looks weren’t what was important, or so they taught her. But with her mind slightly twisted, their destructive nature was saw something else she should instantly accept rather than shun. Calamity had claimed part of her mind, making her realize that destruction was just another part of life, and if the Eidolons could embrace such a thing then she would too. Even when returning to Baron, the darker changes didn’t seem to affect her in the slightest. It was rather creepy how she skipped about happily while the world seemed to fall into ruins. But it was just another thing that was coming to an end that she could happily embrace. If anything, she wanted her smile to comfort them into accepting their doom. [/blockquote]

DRAGON WHISKER; As the name implies, Rydia’s whip once was a whisker on a dragon. Such material is not only extremely durable but flexible as well allowing for added accuracy. Usually secured to Rydia’s hip, the whip was a gift from her friends after they were able to defeat a dragon. It might be an unusual gift, but it’s still a treasured item.

BREAKING LIMIT
Pig – Rydia comes from a summoning bloodline, and thus she is a master of black magic. However, her kind heart keeps her becoming too destructive. A perfect example is when put into a bind, she uses her black magic abilities to transform her enemies into a pig so they are defendless but can't hurt her as well.
