Why was the world so...dark? Gran Pulse was a paradise compared to the places she had been to recently like Luca and Midgar. Now here, where the air was so thick, Scara felt like she was suffocating on the mist. Scara, in a world like this, realized that she was sensitive to nature. Scara walked on, aware that the mist was getting thicker the farther she went in.
Scara gave a gasp as she stopped ahead of her, seeing a dark void in front of her, backed up, and turned around, wondering if this were a dream and she was going to wake up, back Gran Pulse, with a smiling Akira to greet her. 'Scara, there are two more voids in front and one either side. Head northeast.' his voice shattered her hope as she went in the direction Vento had told her.
Scara gripped her necklace, a necklace she never forgot she wore, as she could feel warmth from her mother radiating into her. Scara, finally away from the thickest of the mist, sat down, and seemed like she was gasping for air. The gem that her mother wore allowed her to communicate to Vento, though, Scara didn't know this knowledge.
Scara didn't know many things - her destiny to become a Knight, and fulfill it, Vento being an arbiter, everything. Scara gingerly took off her necklace as she held it delicately in her hands, staring at the beautiful blue stone that belonged to her mother, retrieved by Akira herself. Scara closed her eyes as she could just feel both of the women close yet both were so very far.

"All right, that should take care of any other monster ambushes. Remember, if you need anything I will be here alright?"
Ouranus was taking a quick break from helping out from gathering leads to help out the soldiers of Alexandria. Though there was still plenty of monsters from inside the mist, Ouranus was going to make sure that there was going to be no problems. She wanted to help as many of the people as possible. Whatever traces of her family that were here in the past were no longer gone. Eventually had found herself looking out into the distance. Unlike in the other nations, Ouranus had kept the crest of Abadon present on her clothing. There wasn't much of her family left save for the two heirlooms of her bloodline. She had found herself looking at her crest, remembering everything with her family and how even in the most childish ways she had been trained. But even if it was training, it was still in good times.
Eventually as she held the crest tight in her hand, she watched a girl in the distance. Judging from her appearance, she knew that she wasn't originally from Alexandria. She walked over to her, smiling kindly as she did so. As Rosch showed her kindness when at all possibility she would have imagined being in trouble, she would follow suit and show kindness as well. Calmly walking to her, she then was side by side with her. At first she seemed to be looking into the distance, but then she turned her head as she caught a slight glimpse of the stone she held in her hand. It must have been precious to her. Perhaps something that belonged to her family as well? Ouranus looked at her crest and nodded her head before speaking again. "Good day to you miss," she said in a kind tone of voice.

Scara was shocked to the core as the woman made herself known, making Scara stumble, but not fall, and releasing the grip of her necklace. She knew Vento could sense her coming closer, deemed her as a person who wouldn't act violently against her, and watched on for amusement. Scara should feel honored that she had the lone ability to speak to Vento without being a Knight, yet, but sometimes she wished he wasn't there. Sometimes.
"I-I'm sorry! I was deep in thought and...um...you startled me." It was the truth - Scara was so concentrated in getting out of such a dark area that she hadn't noticed the woman - though nowadays, it was common for Scara to not be originally aware of her surroundings. This girl looked local. "G-Good day to you too...erm...I know it's rash but is there a...safe way to leave this place? I'm not accustomed to be so close to, er, darkness."
Scara hoped she wasn't being rude, having just met, but the darkness was starting to suffocate her but strangely enough, made her feel like it was...familiar? No, that was not the word - Scara was never in the darkness. She was bathed in the purest of light, yet Vento knew, that her light will shatter. Scara didn't forget the necklace for it radiated the warmth of her mother - a person she looked up to - and gave her the power to be in this dark city.

"It's okay."
Ouranus smiled sheepishly as she held her hands up. She had a tone that was apologetic. It seemed that she was pretty deep in thought for whatever reason. She seemed like a nice enough person, and in a way she understood why she needed help in a way. There was plenty of chaos in this kingdom that just about anyone could be touched by it. And in this case it's not even the guards to be worried about here. With the Mist spread out, she knew that it would only be inevitable for a monster attack. Ouranus was not sure that this one would be able to properly defend herself so she was going to need some help.
The silver haired warrior gave her a kind smile as she held her hand out to her. "I can get you out of here. Though much of the kingdom is rubble, my father taught us how to explore the area and my siblings used to play hide and seek through the entire city." Her golden eyes shined brightly as she looked upon the girl. Her desire to help this girl was genuine. She didn't want her to feel uneasy with her. As she looked at her, she then knew to break the ice by telling her who she is. "My name is Ouranus Nova, I guess you could say I am a traveler of sorts. I lived my whole life in Alexandria and have been looking around ever since. I can get you the quickest way out, so you don't have to worry as much. Just stick with me okay?"

When the woman said she could take her away from here, Scara looked up at her and smiled genuinely. People seemed to enjoy her smiles, though Scara could never fathom why on earth someone would enjoy it. She took her hand. She didn't need to see the golden shine from Novas to know that she was genuine; Scara generally saw people as genuine unless proved wrong.
"Thank you! My name is Scara. I'm also traveling but during my travels I had gotten lost and now I am in a place that once seemed so beautiful...yet now it is full of dark mist." Scara and Vento both didn't like these voids, the creepy air, and the possibility of monster attacks. Scara hadn't encountered a monster recently but...
She certainly didn't want to have a battle here, randomly, in Alexandria. Despite looking unarmed, her weapons would come out as she pleased and would not be ambushed, or defenseless. Being the mistress of wind magic gave her advantages of some sorts. "L-Lead the was, Miss Ouranus Novas." Scara was too proper sometimes.

"A traveler too I see..."
She smiled as she looked at Scara. "I've been trying to understand what is going on around this new world. I wanted to see for myself what changes had happened." As she lead her by the hand, Ouranus remembered back when she was a child when her father once blindfolded her and her little brother as they were placed in a random location at a greater distance from their home with each successful return. It was to help learn how to find their way back home in stranger positions. She placed her hand on the wall, looking around at the alleyway. There seemed to be no monster sightings, but she wasn't going to hold her breath. There is always the possibility of monster attacks with defenses being stretched too thin.
As Scara talked about the kingdom, she simply smiled kindly. "You would have loved it. The castle itself stood as a beacon quite literally because a grand blade that shines brightly. But the Mist had taken over much of the city itself." As she traveled carefully, she began to explain about the Mist to Scara. "You see, the Mist itself was generated naturally by some big tree. At first it had receded. However, it came back with a passion but then it receded completely. But with the Cataclysm happening, the Mist started to take a greater hold once again." Looking around at the sky, she continued to speak once again. "The Mist is capable of attracting monsters at a much greater rate. However, something altered it to make the people change." Her head hung low as she spoke that. She still could recall how those people became almost feral in nature as she defended her family against them.

Scara didn't want to imagine how grand the kingdom used to be. She felt if she did, she would weep at what beauty was lost, what innocence was crushed, under the heavy weight of the mist. But this was a new one - the world was changing. Changed? Sure, it was odd how Scara fainted and landed up in Luca and a chocobo was flying her everywhere but changing?
While being led by the hand, she couldn't help but think of her brother, who would hold onto her dress sniffling and crying the whole time no matter where they went. Scara pushed the thought out of her mind for she couldn't give into despair yet. When she was home, she could cry for the places she's been where there was destruction and the people caught in them.
It was, however, interesting to hear about a tree causing the mist. However, hearing about a...Cataclysm Scara almost stopped in place. "A Cataclysm?" That didn't sound good at all. What happened in this place. But, hearing about the monsters and the altered people Scara grew a little more sad. "My home had many monsters but over at the places I've been I have yet to see even a small squirrel run by."

"Yeah."
Ouranus nodded her head as she continued to walk. All the while she moved, she kept her golden eyes around cautiously. The fact things are pretty quiet kept Ouranus' alert level pretty high. "I don't know much about the Cataclysm or why it even happened in the first place. However, what I do know is that it affected different worlds in different ways." Ouranus peered around the corner to make sure there wasn't an ambush. Though she knew that the guards are still doing their job to keep monsters from storming the kingdom, even that was not a guarantee. There was always the chance of a monster popping out of the shadows or streaking out of the sky. "Alexandria unfortunately is one of the places that the Cataclysm affected much more intensely. But there are places that are not as affected compared to here. I have been to several territories and the range of overall areas being affected is usually pretty mild except around the worlds that make up this area." She then stopped as she appeared to walk by herself at the main square. "I think the coast is clear for now. Although I think now is not the time to relax. You never know when a monster might pop up. But don't worry, if worse comes to worse I am ready to defend," Ouranus said with a supportive voice.

Novas seemed nervous and she had every right to be. Monsters were nerve racking, even for the most seasoned warriors, because they know how to be elusive and are strong. Even monsters weren't safe from other monsters. Scara listened to the devastation that was going on with the worlds and knew this for a fact. The places she's seen, the people she met...
It was all because of the Cataclysm. Now she wondered if her world was affected, being the reason why she ended up in Luca and not fainted on the plains of Gran Pulse. It suddenly made sense to her, well, almost everything. The hyperactive chocobo that's been running into her, quite literally, made no sense still. However, she highly doubt it had to do with the calamity.
"This worries me. I haven't seen my world since I left and I hope it is not in turmoil." Scara said, sighing. "If okay! I can defend myself!" Scara didn't like to fight but, being born in Gran Pulse, the struggle against human and monsters was a never ending battle. Scara had to defend herself and fight her way to survival.
