"Unfortunately Rydia, I think the Mist doesn't care about nobility."
Ouranus continued to stare out into the distance as she thought about the Mist in general. It did not seem to care about who it affected or who it didn't affect. She had always thought the Mist as nothing less than neutral. But if anything, even if the Mist were to consume everything in this kingdom, Beatrix's resolve was clear. Although it seemed in a way Ouranus turned away from her kingdom, Ouranus knew that she needed to go. On one side of her mind she knew that staying here wasn't going to give her any information. In order to get a greater picture, one must not focus on a single part. She needed to travel outside of the kingdom, explore different places to find out as much as possible so that she can understand the world around her.
But even as she traveled, she never really forgot her family. As she looked out into the distance she simply smiled and nodded her head. "He was a good man. He was what many would call an explorer. He always knew the best routes when it came to avoiding the monsters of the Mist. He taught all of my siblings how to take notice of everything around us." The biggest thing that she had been taught is that the lack of information would get people into trouble. But not only that, an open mind allows for more understanding.
But then her expression was a little more somber as Rydia talked more. "Actually, the bravery is thanks to my mom. She taught us how to fight, but also know there will always be decisions that will be with us forever. Some people might hate us for it, but it on us to know what is the right thing. And even though I could stay to defend with Beatrix, but I knew it wasn't going to be enough though. I needed to go out there and see what was happening with my own eyes." Aside from that, with most of her family now missing, she had very few ties with Alexandria now. She does visit every now and then to provide aid, she still goes out to investigate everything that is happening. Eventually she snapped out of her somber state as she turned her head to look at the green haired girl with a smile. "I have a thought: how about you and I can be friends?"

In The Great Shipwreck Of LifeWe All Fall Down - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Usually mothers weren’t supposed to be brave. Mothers were usually soft and kind; Rosa was the perfect example even though the woman wasn’t a mother yet. And even her mother was always kindhearted and beautiful; or at least her memories of her human mother made her believe that. Like Rosa, her mother was quite good at white magic, proving her training on healing magics and always being extra soft with Rydia. Then again, it might have been just that motherly touch that made her memories of her mother’s touch always warm and soft. It was almost like the feeling of [Cure]. Though, Asura was brave, but she was an Eidolon. She was also kind and caring…
At least she seemed that way before this Calamity appeared.
”Friends? Really?!” she squealed in an excited tone. Rydia always needed friends. She had Cecil and Rosa obviously; and there were the others but they were all missing. There was Mr. Stork as her new friend as well. Miss Ouranus would make a lovely addition to her list! Friends were what kept her connected to the human world, after all. It was best to have a plentiful amount rather than none at all. If she had none, there wouldn’t be any reason to be here. She probably would have felt cursed when sent here by Asura and Leviathan and looked for a way back to Feymarch…though she secretly did want to return home.
”I’m happy to be your friend. And I surely can help you…somehow,” her voice trailing off a bit at the end. Actually, she didn’t know much about the mist to provide helpful insight. ”I can tell you that the mist is magical. It has the similar properties to how it feels at home, but it’s also very different. Though, I think it’s supposed to be that way. It’s like a very prominent but weak attack spell,” she explained in her most educated guesses. The mist was obviously magic since it had the power to block out the sun or black sky, whatever might be the case for whatever area/city. And since it could lead to effects like confusion, berserk, poison, or even silence, it was like a magical attack. It was funny to think someone was wasting so much magical energy to maintain a spell over the world, but then again, maybe the mist didn’t cover the world but just places near Baron?

Ouranus nodded her head as she smiled happily. It was always nice to meet a new friendly face. As Rydia began to explain what was going on, Ouranus immediately went to get a small book and something to write in. It was less of a report and more like something she had been working on when the Catastrophe had begun. Thumbing through the pages, she made notes on different cities and the people she had encountered through her travels. Eventually she went to a blank spot to where she had left for Alexandria and the other countries that are now nearby it. Where she wrote down for the Mist, she began to write down key points that Rydia had been explaining to her. One thing was clear about her world's Mist: it's functionality was considerably different than what she had normally watched.
As she wrote down notes in her book, she spoke to Rydia. "The possibility of it being more of a constant attack spell has me worried." As she said that, she flipped through the pages and showed her some of the information that was about Alexandria's Mist. Along with written descriptions, she had also a crude drawing of a strange looking person wearing a pointed hat. "If the magic of the Mist is much more stronger this time around, I am worried my people might get desperate and try to weaponize the Mist again." As she spoke, she pointed at the picture she had made. "This is how our black mages came into existence."

In The Great Shipwreck Of LifeWe All Fall Down - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Black mages were made from mist? That definitely didn’t make any sense. Actually, a lot of things she was saying didn’t make sense. How could anyone weaponize mist? Even if a magical spell was transformed into its purest form, it still was just magical energy that could revitalize magical powers. It was like her energetic feelings in the morning being turned into a deadly weapon. There were monsters and people resist to certain elemental magicks. And there were even those who could absorb energy from certain elements. And while [Reflect] went a step further to block the magical attack and redirect it towards the caster, such an event didn’t make the other person a black mage suddenly. And it surely wasn’t really something she could considered as weaponized. There was no way the mist back home could have been turned into something harmful like he talked about.
Furthermore, black mages couldn’t be made. It was a choice to become a black mage opposed to becoming a warrior, archer, white mage, or some other classification like monk. There were different fighting styles in the world and different people were geared towards different things. There were lot of factors that continued towards someone becoming a magical user like potential, birth date, and even the region they were born in. While she didn’t think birth date was really that important as some astronomer claimed, being born in a place like Fabul made becoming a mage hard opposed to Mist, Baron, or even Mysidia. Places where there were mages to apprentice under was an important factor. And like any other type of potential, magical potential made things better for learning different spells. Being a summoner, she was gifted with great magical potential. It was just a matter of choosing whether she wanted to become a white or black mage. Circumstances lead to her going for the darker arts.
”So people here can’t use magic without the mist?” she asked confused.
Maybe this place was the origin for the mist, but it was altered thanks to its contacts with other places like Baron or Luca. Though if the mist was altered, was it altered because of those corrupted magical spots in Luca, or did the mist cause them? And Baron’s skyline never looked like that before the disaster Cecil mentioned. There just seemed to be too many confusing questions.
”I’m sure if Mist Dragon was here she could help decipher the mist better.” Then again, Mist’s might even be able to absorb all the mist since it controlled such a non-elemental energy, thus clearing the lands. Sadly, Mist Dragon was inaccessible to her just like Asura and Leviathan. Though if they were wandering about this new world in their spirit forms, there might be some hope. The green haired girl looked down sadly for a moment as her bottom lip quivered. She missed her Eidolon family dearly. There was something very disheartening being in the human world even if she was born here. The girl simply could never fit in and she knew it all too well. ”Though since Mist isn’t around, maybe Master Tellah would just as informed,” she suggested lowly. Old Man Tellah would have been in Mysidia and Cecil claimed the city didn’t survive the magical disaster. She had hopes he was alive somewhere in this world too, but it was just impossible to know for certain.

"Well not exactly, at least not in the ways of true black magic."
As she spoke, she pulled her sword out and laid it down on the bed. "Though I don't use black magic in the strictest sense, what I can do however is channel my magical energies and form a strong power from within my sword. Right now I can be able to channel elements such as wind and darkness. Or in this case I have used fire to keep that man at bay. I have also another ability that doesn't use the elements, but it does have a lot of power though. Not to mention that I am able to use white magic when I need to help out people a lot more," she said with a nod.
She then blinked a couple times when she talked about a Mist Dragon. She was unsure what she had been talking about, but maybe it was like the Eidolons that Alexandria had. At least what they use to have. She had been curious about who the Mist Dragon was, but she was even more curious about the master she was talking about. Her golden eyes almost seemed to light up with curiousity as she looked at Rydia. "Who's Master Tellah?" She was curious about who this person was, especially since now she had met a person who knows about Mist as well. Perhaps this person could shine more of a light about the land in general.
